The International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations, Lviv Polytechnic National University, invites you to take part in a new event on the Zoom platform - «Olena Ponomareva. In search of a common language: Ukraine-Italy». It is dedicated to the presentation of a new work by Olena Ponomareva, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Professor of Ukrainian Studies and Intercultural Mediation at the Sapienza University of Rome, lexicography specialist, researcher and publicist.
The event will provide an opportunity to get acquainted with a person who represents Ukrainian science and culture, spreads true knowledge about Ukraine in Italy. The author is, without a doubt, an extraordinary personality whose work is significant, especially during the war, when the efforts of each of us must be directed against Russian aggression. The meeting will include, in particular, books:
- Dizionario Ucraino-Italiano Hoepli (Ukrainian-Italian Dictionary) – the first work of a similar volume on the Ukrainian language in Western lexicography;
- Living Torches –a book co-authored with renowned Italian journalist and writer Dario Fertillo. This is a publication about those pages of the history of the last century that have long been silenced and unknown to the general public;
- People and Cyborgs – a theatrical story, based on which a radio play was created on Ukrainian radio with the participation of Nataliia Sumska and Oleksii Bohdanovych.
The event will be attended by:
- Pavlo Hrytsenko, Ukrainian linguist, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Director of the Institute of the Ukrainian Language of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, a full member of the Shevchenko Scientific Society,
- Viktor Nabrusko, President of the National Radio Company of Ukraine (1999-2010), Honored Journalist of Ukraine, Associate Professor, Candidate of Sciences, Lecturer at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
