On 18 July 2025, the Department of Ukrainian Language, the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Scientific and Technical Library of Lviv Polytechnic National University invite you to a memorial evening dedicated to Iryna Farion, a linguist, statesman, public and political figure, initiator of numerous cultural projects.
Together, let us honour the figure who cherished the word – Ukrainian, truthful, strong –above all else.
This evening is an opportunity to remember Iryna Farion as a tireless researcher, a sincere patriot, and the author of projects to strengthen the Ukrainian language and restore historical truth. Among them there are:
- language and art project «Language is the basis of your life» (1998–2008);
- advertising campaigns «Language on Wheels» – an initiative to promote the culture of communication in public space;
- campaign «Treasure of the Nation», during which portraits of Ukrainian cultural and political figures with quotes were placed on advertising media;
- project to promote Ukrainian books «From the Book to the Goal» (2011–2021);
- intellectual and cultural television project «The Greatness of the Personality» (more than 160 programmes in 2014–2019);
- television series «The Gene of Ukrainians» (130 studios in 2019–2021); a series of YouTube lectures «Linguistic and Literary Expositions» (more than 60 lectures).
Also there are published 15 monographs, over 400 scientific and journalistic works.
In the recollections of her contemporaries and colleagues, she emerges as energetic, resilient, and intellectually profound figure.
