The Department of Philosophy, Lviv Polytechnic National University, the Kazimierz Twardowski Lviv Philosophical Society, and the Center for Research on the Heritage of the Lviv-Warsaw School at the University of Warsaw invite you to participate in the International Roundtable «Kazimierz Twardowski, Rationality and Democracy», which will take place online on February 11, 2026.

The study of the philosophical heritage of Kazimierz Twardowski, the founder of the Lviv-Warsaw School, remains highly relevant to contemporary ethics, logic, and democratic theory. His insights into language analysis and scientific rigor offer valuable tools for strengthening democratic institutions and combating disinformation.

Key issues for discussion

  1. Kazimierz Twardowski’s anti-irrationalism: the importance of logic and analysis for political activity.
  2. Rationality and public discourse: application of the principles of the Lviv-Warsaw School in political communication.
  3. Ethics and pedagogy: Kazimierz Twardowski’s contribution to the formation of the intellectual and political elite.
  4. Rationality and democracy: historical origins and modern challenges in philosophical discourse.
