On November 20, 2024, with the support of the EU Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Actions, an online interactive event «Dissemination of best practices in teaching European studies and creation of interdisciplinary programs in higher education institutions of Ukraine: exchange of experience» will be held within the framework of the project European Studies for Technical Specialities at Lviv Polytechnic National University (EUSTS). The event is organised by the team of the Center «European Studies for Technical Specialties», Lviv Polytechnic National University, and the academics of the National University Odesa Law Academy.
The participants will share their experience and vision of implementing European studies, as well as teaching the EU institutional framework, policies and values, namely:
- Professor Yaryna Turchyn, Doctor of Political Sciences, (EUSTS Project Manager, Chair of the Jean Monnet Chair in European Studies for Technical Specialities at Lviv Polytechnic National University, Director of the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences);
- Professor Borys Kormych, Doctor of Juridical Sciences, (implementer of the Jean Monnet module «The EU’s comprehensive approach to security: tackling evolving threats, building a strong security ecosystem», Head of the Department of Maritime and Customs Law, National University Odesa Law Academy);
- Associate Professor Nataliia Vovk, Candidate of Historical Sciences, (EUSTS project participant, Associate Professor at the Department of Social Communication and Information Activities, the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences);
- Associate Professor Daria Minchenko, Candidate of Juridical Sciences (Head of the International Relations Office, Associate Professor at the Department of Civil Law, National University Odesa Law Academy);
- Associate Professor Tetiana Krasnopolska, Candidate of Political Sciences, (Associate Professor at the Department of Political Theories, National University Odesa Law Academy);
- Associate Professor Olena Lukachuk (Innovation Hub mentor, EUSTS project participant, Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Lviv Polytechnic).
The practical part of the event with the use of interactive teaching methods to develop knowledge about the EU as a responsible global actor in the modern system of international relations will be conducted for students of the National University Odesa Law Academy by trainers in teaching methods, participants of the EUSTS project – Associate Professor Olha Ivasechko and Associate Professor Oleh Tsebenko, the Department of Political Science and International Relations. Associate Professor Oleksandr Markovets, the Department of Social Communication and Information Activities, Associate Professor Lidiia Kasha, the Department of Electromechatronics and Computerized Electromechanical Systems and Associate Professor Iryna Sukhorolska, the Department of Political Science and International Relations, joined the organization of the event.
