The Department of Automated Control Systems (ACS Department), the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technologies, Lviv Polytechnic, will host the Data Privacy in IoT Summer School from 2 to 6 June 2025.
The purpose of the event is :
- to learn about the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the main security challenges in IoT systems and ways to solve them;
- to study the legal aspects of the lawful collection, storage and analysis of personal data, as well as international experience in the field of data protection in IoT systems: standards, technologies and regulations;
- to consider the peculiarities of working with cloud services and technologies and the use of artificial intelligence technologies in IoT.
The Summer School is open to senior undergraduate students (starting from the third year), master’s and PhD students. To participate, you need to register by 31 May. Students will be selected on a competitive basis and the results will be announced by 1 June.
Students can receive 1 ECTS credit which can be transferred to relevant courses. The condition for obtaining the certificate is the student’s attendance of at least 80% of the classes and an individually written work with a passing score of 40%.
The Data Privacy in IoT Summer School is organised by Lviv Polytechnic National University as part of the Data Protection in EU educational project of the Erasmus+ programme, Jean Monnet Chair, with the support of the European Union.
The classes will be taught by project participants and the faculty of ACS Department:
- Associate Professor Anastasiia Doroshenko, Candidate of Technical Sciences (project coordinator);
- Professor Vasyl Tesliuk, Doctor of Technical Sciences;
- Associate Professor Kvitoslava Obeliovska, Candidate of Technical Sciences;
- Associate Professor Yurii Opotiak, Candidate of Technical Sciences.
