Ecological Monitoring with new Information Technologies: European Experience

Project goal: study of EU practice on environmental monitoring methods and means, dissemination of this information and gaining experience in implementing systems of analysis and management of the environmental situation in the EU and the world.

Main tasks:

  • teaching and research in the field of computer environmental monitoring in the EU, the study of monitoring systems for soil, air, water, climate;
  • improving awareness of IT professionals and scientists on today`s global environmental issues, as well as EU standards;
  • providing students, graduates, stakeholders and the public with knowledge about environmental monitoring in the EU.

Project results:

  • introduction of new issues - study of EU values in the field of computer environmental monitoring and their application in Ukraine;
  • raising the professional level and improving career prospects for young graduates by improving the educational programs offered by the Lviv Polytechnic National University;
  • increasing the level of knowledge of IT specialists about environmental monitoring systems and the expediency of their use in Ukraine, dissemination of knowledge among the population about the main problems of environmental safety and the use of the results of environmental studies
