The Acer company handed over five under desk bikes to Lviv Polytechnic. The device allows you to charge your gadgets by working as a dynamo machine. Under desk bikes were provided for the use of top five Departments.
Our University received five eKinekt Bike Desks from Acer, a well-known Taiwanese electronics manufacturer. Their peculiarity is that the person spins the pedals while sitting at the table. It has a flat work surface, a cup holder and USB ports for charging electronics from the physical activity.
John Scott Marchant, adviser to the Minister of Digital Affairs of Taiwan, Yevhenii Smiliak, representative of Acer, and Mykola Kniazhytskyi, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, visited our University to participate in the event. Oleh Matviikiv, First Vice Rector and Bohdan Mirinchyk, Head of the Students’ Board, spoke on behalf of Lviv Polytechnic.
The under desk bikes were handed over to the five Departments with the best rankings, namely: the Department of Pedagogics and Innovative Education, IJPS, the Department of Higher Geodesy and Astronomy, IGDG, the Department of Management of Organizations, IEM, the Department of Artificial Intelligence Systems, ICSIT and the Department of Electronic Engineering, ITRE. Of course, students and faculty of other Departments can come and use these under desk bikes as well. The Directors of the Institutes and students who were the first to pedal the under desk bikes received gifts from the company.
