Dear Polytechnicians, congratulations to all on Constitution Day!

Today is an important and symbolic day. We understand this in a special way during a full-scale war, when millions are fighting for the right for Ukraine to be as it is written in our Constitution – a sovereign and independent, democratic, social, and legal state.

Noting the date of adoption of the most important law of our State, we are once again convinced that these are not declarative things, but the principles on which our freedom is based. Our people have been acquiring these rights for centuries. And today we stand on a united front to win the final victory over our fierce enemy, who by force wants to destroy all the basic principles of independent Ukraine, encroaching on our territorial integrity, our language, and our security.

«I know what freedom is – it is signed by swords!» – These words of the outstanding Ukrainian writer of the sixties Lina Kostenko are prophetic for our people. Day by day, because of the sacrifice of our soldiers, the tirelessness of volunteers, because of the great love for our country – we become stronger and stronger as a nation. Ukrainians have become a symbol of steadfastness, because we know the price of independence and the right to be a free people.

I believe in our common victory! Glory to Ukraine! Glory to Heroes!

Rector of Lviv Polytechnic National University
