The annual ranking of higher education institutions of Ukraine based on data from the Scopus scientometric database has been published on the osvita.ua website. The results of the ranking are based on the citation rates of scientific articles published by educational institutions or their specialists.
The ranking was created based on the results of scientometric monitoring of subjects of scientific and publishing activity of Ukraine according to the indicators of the SciVerse Scopus database in April 2024.
The Scopus database constantly indexes more than 25,000 periodical and non-periodical scientific publications in technical, medical and humanitarian sciences. This database includes publications of scientific journals, conference materials, book publications, etc.
In the ranking table, Ukrainian universities are ranked according to the Hirsch index – a quantitative indicator based on the number of scientific publications and their citations.
According to the results of the 2024 ranking, Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University has the highest Hirsch index among Ukrainian institutions of higher education. Lviv Polytechnic National University ranks ninth.
