Depending on the scenarios of the situation with the spread of coronavirus and, accordingly, quarantine measures, Lviv Polytechnic is ready for possible changes.

Nadiia Liubomudrova, Head of the Department of Personnel Training and Development, Associate Professor at Lviv Polytechnic National University, told about new challenges in the higher education system related to quarantine at the Infoden program on 5 Channel Lviv.

– This year will be completely different than previous ones. The dates of the beginning of the academic year have changed. If schools open their doors on September 1, due to the fact that the admission campaign was postponed for a month, higher education institutions, including Lviv Polytechnic, will start training on October 1. Everyone is used to online lectures, virtual classrooms, virtual boards, students’ personal accounts, etc. Thus, these information technologies gradually entered our lives and we got used to them. During six months of such online learning environment, we have learned to adapt to change. We are ready for this, said Nadiia Liubomudrova.

Mz. Liubomudrova also told about learning scenarios depending on the quarantine zone in which Lviv will be in.

– Our university is considering two scenarios for the beginning of the academic year, which depend on which quarantine zone Lviv will be in. If orange zone, then it will be a mixed form of online learning. If the quarantine measures will be softened, we will have more time spent in classrooms and more offline learning. If the quarantine is strengthened, then we are absolutely ready to shift to online training, said Nadiia Liubomudrova.
