On February 11, 2020, representatives of the Hochschule Geisenheim University in Germany – Dr. Martin Reiss and Dr. Jörn Schultheiß – visited Viacheslav Chornovil Institute of Sustainable Development, Lviv Polytechnic. They met with the Director of ISD, Professor O. Moroz, heads of the Departments and responsible for international cooperation.
German colleagues told about the directions of scientific and educational activity of the Geisenheim University, and Polytechnicians – about the specifics of their work. The directions are very diverse: landscape protection technologies, monitoring studies of nature conservation areas, agro-ecology, tourism in small towns and rural areas, and even digitization of landscapes. The multidisciplinary nature of the German University and the Institute of Sustainable Development is a common feature that can initiate further cooperation.
The conversation was interesting and useful. The continuation will be in Slavske at the Second International Scientific Symposium on Sustainable Development – State and Prospects, where our German colleagues will speak at a plenary meeting.
After the meeting, the assistant of the Department of Tourism Mariana Senkiv organized for the guests a walking tour of the streets of ancient Lviv.
